à la carte translations offers various levels of quality control for documents written in, or translated into, French.

The proofreader only looks at the finished product and concentrates solely on the formal aspects of the text: typography, punctuation, spelling, syntax, grammar and typos.

Editing involves the same process as proofreading but attention is also paid to the style and clarity of the message. Improvements are suggested only if deemed necessary and are in keeping with the author’s style. For translations, the finished text will read as well as the original.

Revision is the most complete and thorough service offered. Terminology is checked for accuracy and consistency, omissions are rectified and amendments recommended where necessary. For translations, the original text will be compared against the final translation to ensure it is fit for purposes.
